"Whole house" approach needed to enhance home energy efficiency

People need to take a holistic view of their energy management systems in order to improve their home's green credentials, it has been asserted.
Lord Adair Turner, chairman of the Climate Change Commission, told the Telegraph that the UK needs to look at more radical ways of improving the environmental efficiency of its properties.
He stated that tough decisions need to be taken as Britain is starting to run out of "easy things" that can be done in homes and other structures - such as commercial buildings used by businesses.
"We need much more of a whole house approach – one-stop shops where people can get a total report on what they need to do," the paper quotes Lord Turner - who is also the chairman of the UK's Financial Services Authority - as saying.
He stated that this may be a move that costs between £10,000 and £15,000 to implement each time.
