UK firms urged to save energy for 'greenest office' competition

Cartridge World has announced a competition to identify the most environmentally-friendly office space in the UK.
The global supplier of printer ink cartridges partnered with CO2balance to launch the contest, which can be entered by any British business demonstrating a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint through energy-saving initiatives or other green measures.
Cartridge World will offer a variety of prizes at both regional and national level, with six regional winners due to progress to the final shortlist before an overall winner of the Greenest Office Award is announced.
Brad McBride, a Cartridge World franchisee based in north-west England, told the Messenger newspaper: "We want to encourage all local businesses, whatever their size, to think about their environmental policy - everything from waste recycling practices to energy-saving activities."
"This is an opportunity for a business to demonstrate to its customers and suppliers just how conscientious it is."
November 30th is the deadline for entries, with the national winner due to be announced in January next year.
