Ohio school district's energy-saving scheme reaps rewards

An energy conservation initiative in a school district in the US state of Ohio has saved thousands of dollars in its first year.
Just a year after the introduction of Granville School District's $2 (£1.2 million) million energy-reduction scheme, an estimated $107,000 has already been saved, according to the Granville Sentinel.
A report made to the local board of education praised the district's energy-saving measures and projected that as much as $175,000 could be saved annually once all the initiatives were up and running.
This means that the district will exceed its target of $170,000 and repay its state-approved low-interest loan in less time than the projected 11.4 years.
"I think we're going to be able to pay it off quicker than that," district director of business operations Chuck Dilbone confirmed to the publication.
Schools, businesses and industrial units can invest in conservation products such as Enigin's Eniscope, which provides real-time energy monitoring that can enable organisations to assess their power usage effectively and make informed decisions on where to make cutbacks.
