New Jersey town to benefit from energy conservation initiative

Take up of energy-saving products in the US state of New Jersey could increase as a result of a national energy-efficiency programme that aims to promote increased energy efficiency among businesses and residents.
Lacey town is to become the latest beneficiary of the award-winning energy-efficiency scheme dubbed Project Porchlight, which is backed by New Jersey's Clean Energy Program.
Free energy-saving light bulbs and information on greener living are to be distributed in the town today (July 23rd) as the state-backed project opens a new base in Lacey, reports app.com.
The green awareness move could not only push more people to look at ways of adopting energy-saving products, but also benefit businesses interested in exploiting emerging opportunities in the sector.
Widely recognised as a national model, New Jersey's Clean Energy Program provides green financial incentives, programmes and services for residential, commercial and public sector bodies.
The programme supports investment in green products such as installation of clean, renewable sources of energy and works to increase awareness on clean energy issues.
