London energy-saving initiative pushes for green living

An energy-saving initiative in the UK is reportedly helping commercial property owners and their tenants in London implement conservation measures by using green products and solutions.
The Better Buildings Partnership, which was launched by the London Climate Change Agency more than a year ago, has been working with the largest commercial and public property owners in the capital to cut emissions.
According to climatechengecorp.com, the partnership has so far brought together 12 members who collectively account for around 15 per cent of commercial property stock in the city.
The objective is to encourage property owners to work together to improve the sustainability of London's existing building stock and accelerate carbon reduction by promoting adoption of energy-saving products.
"It's generally a case of the landlord making the investment, but the tenant being the one who benefits – or vice-versa," Sumeet Manchanda, the principal strategy officer at the London Development Agency is quoted by the publication as stating.
According to Mr Manchanda, the partnership hopes it will bring together five more members, who will push the collective commercial property ownership percentage to around 25 per cent.
