Green Voice of the UK found by Carbon Challenge

Piper Terrett has been named as the Green Voice of the UK.

In a statement, the Carbon Challenge explained that Mr Terrett was the winner of a contest that aimed to find a member of the British public who could represent the nation's views on climate change, which could incorporate issues such as how to reduce carbon emissions.

Mr Terret was named as the winner by Joan Ruddock, the minister for energy and climate change, as well as the Labour MP for Lewisham Deptford, at a ceremony at Portcullis House in Westminster earlier this week.

Commenting, he said that it is "high time" that members of the public became more involved in the discussion about climate change.

He added: "We know the planet is in jeopardy and we each have our part to playing in saving it, so what is stopping us from introducing more energy saving measures around our homes and businesses?"
