Energy saving products can 'cut cost of climate change'

Investing in energy saving products such as a water source heat pump could help reduce the speed of climate change, according to Helena Wright, a renewable energy advisor at British Eco Energy.

The statement was made in reaction to news that a community programme near Tower Bridge in London had invested in the aforementioned equipment to provide heating and hot water to its dockside community buildings.

Ms Wright stated that setting up such energy efficiency measures could help to cut the cost of climate change and is something both businesses and individuals should consider.

She stated: "People do not seem to realise that renewable energy is very economical. In the long term it is better to use renewable energy because you won't have to keep extracting fuel."

The community programme known as the Hermitage River Project is comprised of river boats, many of which are more than 200 years old, as well as a community centre that is to be powered using the pump.ADNFCR-2541-ID-19217859-ADNFCR
