Energy-saving measures considered by Easton Area School District

Officials at a Pennsylvania school district are mapping out how to adopt long-term energy-saving measures that will help them reduce their electricity consumption, wastage and expenditure.
Installing energy efficient lighting systems and using renewable energy are among the options under consideration by Easton Area School District officials, according to lehighvalleylive.com.
The website claimed that some of these ideas were inspired by a 12th-grade environmental science class, which presented them to the management board.
"Once we started working on this project, it started to become clear we could actually make real changes to save money and energy," 17-year-old Katelyn Cohen, one of the students who made the presentation, told the website.
"I was astonished at the end of the day when we gave the presentation at how much of a change could be made."
As well as investing in technologies such as motion sensors that can turn lights off when no one is in the room, schools and businesses can also use real-time energy monitoring products such as Enigin's Eniscope.
